Lexilogy for schools

One method, three languages, ages 8 to 18

A research-based reading and spelling intervention for the students who fall between your support systems. Rotating seats, a simple admin environment, and every subscription includes English, Dutch and Greek.

You know these students

Every school has them:

And in secondary:

For these students, most systems have nothing structural to offer. Lexilogy gives your school an instrument that is actually there: a structured intervention that students complete largely independently, while your learning support coordinator follows their progress from a single admin environment.

What makes Lexilogy different

Lexilogy is not practice software layered on top of your curriculum. It is a remedial intervention that repairs the underlying processes themselves, in three layers and always in this order:

phonological awareness, morphological awareness, automatisation.

The second layer is where the difference lives

Students learn to see into words:

prefixes, roots, suffixes, origin

The component that most programmes skip entirely, and that matters most for older students and deep orthographies like English. The method has been evaluated in peer-reviewed research, published in the European Journal of Special Needs Education (Tijms, Pavlidou & Hoette, 2020). The study was conducted with the Greek version, with fifteen children with spelling difficulties, in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam and the University of York. After six months of Lexilogy, spelling, word reading and text reading had all improved, spelling most of all. In the six months before, without training, nothing changed. The English and Dutch versions share the same structure.

Built for secondary students too. Deliberately

Most remedial reading programmes are unusable for anyone over ten, for a simple reason: they are designed for young children. Animations, game characters, reward screens. No twelve-year-old, let alone a sixteen-year-old, wants to be seen with them.

Lexilogy has a calm, mature interface

No characters dragging letters around, no stars and confetti. Word parts, colours and structure. A student of fifteen can work with it without embarrassment, in a support lesson or at home. That makes Lexilogy usable across your whole school: from age 8 up to 18

Three languages in every subscription

Lexilogy is the only reading and spelling intervention built in parallel:

for Dutch-English bilingual education, and

for Greek-English diaspora education

The same intervention, with the same structure, whichever pair your school needs. Every subscription includes all three languages as standard, at no extra cost.

The didactic route is clear: the strongest language first, then the second, whichever that happens to be.

A student repairs the underlying processes in the language they're strongest in, often the school language, sometimes the home language, and then walks the same path in the other.

Phonological and morphological awareness are skills that transfer from one language to the other: what is built in the first language carries into the second. Your administrator simply assigns the next language version to the same login. The student keeps their seat a little longer, and you pay nothing extra. That makes Lexilogy a natural fit for:

International schools. Students who learn to read in a language that is not spoken at home benefit from an approach that works at the level of sounds and word structure, and that treats the home language as a foundation rather than an obstacle.

Bilingual programmes. Students with reading and spelling difficulties carry a double load in bilingual education. With Lexilogy they strengthen the foundation in one language first, then complete the second, with the same didactics, within the same subscription.

Greek community and heritage schools. Lexilogy is the only validated Greek reading and spelling intervention available online, built in parallel with an English version. For Greek-English school communities, that combination exists nowhere else.

Dutch schools abroad and in the Caribbean. Where Dutch and English live side by side, Lexilogy lays the same foundation in both, in the order that suits the student.

How it works in practice

A school subscription gives you an admin environment of your own. You place a student on a seat, follow their progress, and remove them once the programme is complete. That seat is immediately available for the next student. You pay per year for a number of seats, not per student. Because a student completes the programme in roughly six months, one seat serves multiple students per year.

Become our research partner. One school, one year, free

I am looking for one school that wants to build with me. The Lexilogy method is scientifically validated. For Lexilogy-START I want to set the same bar, and that is only possible with a school that uses the programme in daily practice. So I am offering one school partner a full school year of free access to Lexilogy-START.

What I ask in return: structured feedback from the teachers, insight into student results, and permission to use the experience as a case study. You get a proven approach and a direct line to the developer. I get the practical data that makes Lexilogy-START better.

Preferably a bilingual school — English-Dutch or English-Greek. But feel free to convince me otherwise.
